Look Who's Two

It's hard to believe that this little one is actually two! Tom and I were just talking about how we can't believe she is two but at the same time it's weird that we haven't always had her. Funny how that works.
We started LB's birthday out with donuts. I was impressed that she successfully blew out both candles, hope she wished for something good. Bethany got to open her presents from us in the morning and then after nap time she opened up the plethora of presents she had from friends and family.

A doll from Grammy and Papa Koehler with matching pj's for herself!

Showing off just some of her loot.
Today we had some of Tom's classmates and their families over for a little barbeque. So of course Bethany got to make another wish and blow out candles on a cup cake.

Now that Bethany is two I figured it was time for her to learn that her mother's creativity is limited to this. Sorry, no extravagantly decorated cake here baby girl, all you get are pink cupcakes with smiley faces. They kind of remind me of the little green aliens in Toy Story that were all waiting for "the claw" to grab them. Too bad it wasn't a Toy Story themed party . . .

LB's birthday also included a trip to the doctor. She weighed in at 25.5 lbs (33rd percentile) and was 34 inches tall (50th percentile). Looks like she may not be quite the shrimp I was anticipating but most likely she isn't going to make it to her mother's height. Maybe we can make her a setter . . .

In other developmental news, last Sunday Bethany decided to take a nose dive out of her crib at nap time. The side has since been removed and her crib is now a toddler bed. We were a little concerned about her staying in bed but one stern encounter with her dad and she hasn't gotten out of bed since. Why is it that dads are so much scarier than moms?
