8 Months

We have a mover this month! That's right, Bethany isn't quite crawling but she is definitely scooting along on her tummy going exactly where she wants to go. Tom and I both were taken by surprise on Friday when we heard splashing water only to look around and see that Bethany had gotten herself to Ami's water dish.


We have talked about this day for quite awhile but now that it's here it seems so overwhelming. Will she pull the DVD player down? Will she get under the computer desk and pull (or worse, chew on) the cords? Of course the answer to these questions is a resounding "YES." The problem though, is that we feel clueless on how to to prevent her from getting hurt and our stuff from getting broken. We certainly have removed the the obvious hazards like the book shelf in the living room stuffed with books but we can't remove everything! I am sure that all of you experienced parents are probably laughing right now because you know that of course Bethany is going to get hurt and of course some of our stuff is going to be broken. What you also know is that we will all survive, and I am sure you're right. However, right now, in the moment we are kind of freaking out. :) Whew, that was little bit of a tangent.


Okay, back to Bethany's 8th month. This month two of her bottom teeth have fully erupted and she is currently able to feed herself puffs, pieces of avocado, and bananas. We haven't been to the doctor but about a week ago she was exactly 17lbs on my dad's super accurate scale he uses for the wrestlers to weigh in. We are also happy to say that Bethany is officially "off her meds," no more zantac for this baby! She continues to be a happy girl and is still taking great naps, what more could we ask for?
